Downside House has two holiday cottages, The Nook and The Garden Rooms, offering high quality self-catering holiday accommodation for 2 and 4 respectively (or 6 if you want to rent the two cottages together). Both can also accommodate an infant in a cot.
The two cottages sit in the grounds of Downside House - a grade II listed building dating back to 1734, which was once the doctor's house for Downside School and Abbey. The cottages have been renovated to a very high standard offering comfort, warmth and style with beautiful furnishings and modern appliances. They are also both secluded and private. And they each offer the height of luxury with a character twist, their own private garden, off road parking and free WiFi.
Situated in the heart of Chilcompton, the cottages are the perfect place from which to explore the beautiful sights Bath, Wells and Somerset have to offer.
Open all year round we cater for parties of 2, 4, or 6 should you want to take both properties. We provide first class facilities for everyone.
The Garden Rooms sleep up to four guests (plus an infant in a cot) and The Nook sleeps up to two (plus an infant in a cot).

My husband and I spent a couple of days in The Nook at Downside House. To say our stay was comfortable would be an understatement. The accommodation was stylish, clean and cosy, with everything needed for a short or long stay. The bed was heaven giving us the best nights' sleep we have had in an age. We stayed in The Garden Rooms, which we found to be modern, clean and very comfortable. It was fully equipped with all you need for a longer stay.
